On Tuesday, February 25, 2014, the court's 26th Annual Judicial Conference will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the National Courts Building, 717 Madison Place, NW, Washington, DC. The conference is sponsored by the court and the Court of Federal Claims Bar Association, in partnership with the Supreme Court Institute of the Georgetown Law Center. The program at the court will be followed with an evening reception starting at 5:30 p.m. at the neighboring National Museum of Women in the Arts, 1250 New York Avenue, NW, Washington, DC. Select galleries will be open for viewing.
- Introduction of the Court’s Newest Judges
- Best Practices in Pre-trial Case Management
Judge Thomas C. Wheeler will chair this panel, to feature a discussion by Court practitioners regarding best practices in pre-trial case management. In order to present the “Bar’s perspective,” representatives of the government and private bars will exchange their thoughts.
- OSM Update & Presentation of Causation in Fact Cases
Two leading Vaccine Act practitioners will join the Chief Special Master to discuss “best practices” in this important area of the law.
- Supreme Court Review
This panel will be presented by our conference partner, the Supreme Court Institute of the Georgetown Law Center. Chaired by Irv Gornstein, Executive Director of the Institute, leading Supreme Court advocates and scholars will provide an “inside look” at the key decisions of the 2012-13 Term and petitions pending for the 2013-14 Term, with an emphasis on the cases of special interest to those who practice before the Court of Federal Claims.
