The United States Court of Federal Claims Bar Association, in conjunction with the Federal Circuit Bar Association, are pleased to announce the brown bag / webinar: “It’s Raining Cases: Perspectives from the OSM and DOJ on Current Vaccine Injury Case Administration.” This brown bag webinar will take place on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 1:30 pm ET.
Special Master Herbrina D. Sanders will serve as panel moderator. She began as a Special Master of the United States Court of Federal Claims on January 9, 2017. Special Master Sanders graduated from Stanford University with a B.A. in Human Biology, and she received her J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law. Prior to her appointment to the Office of Special Masters, Ms. Sanders worked as a Trial Attorney in the United States’ Department of Justice, Criminal Division, where she led investigations and prosecutions in cases involving crimes against children.
Chief Special Master Nora Beth Dorsey will discuss the greatly increased number of vaccine injury cases being filed in the United States Court of Federal Claims; the adjudication of entitlement, damages, and attorney’s fees; and the Court’s plans for the future.
Catharine E. Reeves will discuss how the Department of Justice is handling the increased number of vaccine injury filings, the department’s processing of those cases, and the department’s plans for future. brown bag / webinar is free for members of the Court of Federal Claims Bar Association and the Federal Circuit Bar Association.
